Hello. My name is Petunia. Welcome. I would like to share my experience with natural pest control tactics with you through this site. I am deathly afraid of all insects that crawl and fly. When an insect enters my living space, I have to call in reinforcements to help me remove the invader. I do not believe in using chemicals when natural substances can do the job, however. Therefore, I started to become adept at using natural pest control tactics to keep pests from entering my home in the first place. I hope you can use the information on my site to keep your home pest free. Thanks.
If you find that you tend to get a lot of flies inside of your house then there are different things that you can try that should help you to keep them under control. While you may not be able to keep them out 100%, you should be able to decrease the amount that you have to deal with inside of your house. Here are some things that you can do that will help you get the flies under control:
Store used meat in the freezer
If you take your meat scraps from your plate and throw them in the trash, then the flies will swarm like crazy. Also, throwing away the trimmings from raw meat from meal prep will give you the same result. It's much better to wrap the meat up in a plastic bag and keep it frozen until the day the trash goes out to the street. Not only will this help with the flies, but it will also help cut down on the chances of animals knocking over your outside trash can to get at the meat.
Eat fruit and veggies quickly
The longer you leave your fruit and veggies sitting on the counter, the riper they will become and the more likely that you will soon be dealing with those irritating little fruit flies who can chase you right out of your own kitchen and make meal times horrible. Consider keeping any fruits and vegetables that can go inside of the refrigerator in there to cut down on the temptation you will be leaving out for the fruit flies.
Keep dog feces picked up daily
If you have dogs then you are going to want to go outside and pick up after them on a daily basis. In fact, it's best if you pick up after them every time they go if you can. You should also put it in a trash can with a tightly fitting lid and keep it as far away from the house as possible.
Pick up after your fruit trees daily
If you have fruit trees in your yard then you want to make sure you pick up the fruit as soon as it falls on the ground and even try to remove it from the tree before it falls. Leaving the fruit on the ground can be like a calling card for animals like raccoons, skunks, deer, bears, rabbits, rats and many others.
